We absolutely love the staff at Carmel Pediatric Dentistry! They are so patient and creative when cleaning kids teeth! They have the best waiting room and a very organized front office. The Dentist are very educated and thorough. We did have a tooth emergency and we called their emergency line which went straight to the dentist on call. If you’re looking for a ped dentist office that the kids will be excited to go to this is the one for you! I’ve recommended them to all my family & friends.
“Being a mom of 4 little ones, I know how challenging and overwhelming a dental visit can be. My goal is to create an atmosphere where both children and parents feel comfortable. There is nothing better than having a child come into the office fearful and tearful and leave happy and confident.”
A native of Terre Haute, Dr. Katie Nichols was born and raised in Indiana. She graduated from Butler University with an undergraduate degree in Biology. She went on to attend Indiana University School of Dentistry where she graduated with honors. She then completed a 2-year pediatric dental residency program at Riley Hospital for Children at IU Health. Along the way, she fell in love with treating children from infants to adolescents including children with special health care needs.
Having experienced the stress that a dental appointment can cause a parent and child, Dr. Katie set out to make that experience different. She wanted to create an atmosphere that would build trust and confidence while making the dentist fun. She loves to use her “magic air” and sing songs to create a unique experience with personalized education, care, and attention for every child.
Dr. Katie is a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist. She is an active member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, Indiana Society of Pediatric Dentistry, American Dental Association, and the Indiana Dental Association. She is also a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry with privileges at St. Vincent’s Carmel Hospital and IU North Hospital. She is CPR and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certified to provide the safest patient experience possible. Always looking for ways to grow her dental skills, she pursues continuing education, podcasts, books, and conversations with colleagues.
Outside the office, Dr. Katie loves spending family time with her husband, Scott, and their four children, Nolan, Knox, and twins – Collin and Nora. You can catch them riding on a bike trail, traveling around, or in a warrior pose. They are also engaged in their community through their local church and the Butler Alumni Association. Go Bulldogs!
